The tragic accident happened on Tuesday, April 30, at a railroad crossing in Olomouc-Holic. Express train 812 Moravan heading from Olomouc via Přerov and Břeclav to Brno hit a person in the railway yard.

“Today, shortly after nine o’clock, we received a notification about a collision between a person and a train, which occurred at a railway crossing in Olomouc in the local part of Holice. The person succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The exact causes and circumstances of the traffic accident are the subject of further investigation,” confirmed police spokeswoman Ivana Skoupilová.
Firefighters evacuated passengers from the affected express train. České dráhy introduced replacement bus service between Olomouc and Grygov, replacing passenger trains and Slovak and Valašské Expresses. Buses depart from Táborská street in Olomouc, where passengers can reach from the main station via the underpass towards Holica
