“Too soon to be gone, but he’s gone nonetheless. My little boy, my friend, my partner Kobe was always full of life and joy. But now he lies here lifeless. I screamed his name so many times but he didn’t get a response,” Ngannou, a Cameroonian boxer and former MMA star, wrote on social media.

“I was the best version of myself around him, but now I don’t really know who I am. Life is so unfair. Delivers blows to the places that hurt the most. How do I deal with something like this? How am I supposed to live with it? Please help me if you have any advice. I really don’t know what to do and how to cope with all this.’

Thirty-seven-year-old Ngannou has had an impressive sports career. He was the heavyweight champion of the UFC, the world’s most famous MMA organization. In seven years, he earned around 3.5 million dollars (over 80 million crowns) here. However, he did not agree on a new contract with the UFC last January. He embarked on a boxing career and became the face of the PFL organization.

In October, he fought Britain’s Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia, losing narrowly on points after a ten-round battle. In March of this year, he boxed with another Briton, Anthony Joshua, and was knocked out in the second round.

Now, however, the African giant has completely different worries. And in difficult times after the loss of his son, even his colleagues from the world of combat sports express their support. “I’m so sorry. I am praying for you and your family,” wrote Connor McGregor. Alex Volkanovski, Cris Cyborg, Adrian Yanez and his last opponent Anthony Joshua also joined.

“I have a child of a similar age and I can’t even imagine what your family is going through right now. I hope you get some peace, you deserve it,” said Terrance McKinney, an American fighter from the UFC.
