About half of the construction will mean widening the current road I/7 into a highway, it will be diverted to the new track in the form of a bypass around the village of Lotouš.

After a number of delays, the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD) got around to opening bids in the tender for the construction of the section of the D7 highway from the Slaný západ interchange to Kutrovice, on which the Lotouse bypass is the most important. Of the six bidders, Silnice Group came with the lowest price.

The 3.4-kilometer highway section is willing to be built for 532 million, which represents roughly 64 percent of the estimated price (828 million). It was announced on the X network by the head of the ŘSD Radek Mátl. “A valid building permit has been issued for the building and archaeological research is underway,” he added.

About half of the construction will mean widening the current road I/7 into a highway, it will be diverted to the new track in the form of a bypass around the village of Lotouš. The work should start this year, the assumption that the new traffic lane will be put into operation is in 2025, and it should be completely finished a year later. It is not certain whether the deadlines will be met, the tender deadline was postponed several times, the original deadline for submission of offers was January 29.

At the same time, a total of three sections remain to complete the D7 in Central Bohemia. In addition to the MÚK Slaný západ – Kutrovice section, there are sections Knovíz – MÚK Slaný západ (6.5 km) and Kutrovice – Panenský Týnec (6.8 km). Tenders are already running for all of them, the last competition was announced this week for the section around Slané to Knovíz.

Almost 17 kilometers of the highway should then be opened to motorists in 2026 and 2027.
