The most talented are often not looking for the highest salary or the fastest career progression, but prefer technical challenges, ambitious projects and the opportunity to work with the latest technologies. For example, regional innovation centers offer them such an option.

Those who like routine and peace will not go to the innovation center

“This job is not for everyone. Those who like their routine and peace of mind will not come to us. We are looking for people who are open and willing to try new things,” says Jiří Tomíček, director of the competence and innovation center Intemac, which is part of the South Moravian Innovation Center (JIC).

“We currently have fifty-three technology partners and we help dozens of companies from the South Moravian region with the introduction of automation and digitization of production. We advise how to save time and be more efficient,” adds Tomíček.

The Intemac Center has access to the latest innovations in the field of robotics and automation, and thanks to this, it offers businesses the opportunity to test these technologies before implementing them in their production.

“Due to the constant development in this area, we are looking for enthusiasts among experienced programmers and technical graduates who want to keep moving forward,” informs the representative of Intemac.

Ideal starting position for students

It is the possibility of being in constant contact with the latest procedures and technologies that can appeal to ambitious students of technical fields. “It’s not about one technology. In our center, we maintain technological neutrality, which means that we have robots of different brands and orientations,” describes Tomíček.

This is a great advantage for an aspiring engineer to capitalize on in his career in the future: “While in a normal private company they usually learn to work with one type of machine, with us they get to know several possible solutions in detail.”

The situation on the labor market has been the same for several years. Graduates of technical fields are the most sought after by companies and there is still a great shortage of them. In addition to the salary, other factors enter into the search for an ideal job, such as the perspective of development, work on orders that have a wider meaning and give the opportunity to learn new things.

“Many young technical graduates today do not have remuneration in the first place. They are interested in what technology the company has, they are looking for big projects, they want to continuously develop and educate themselves,” confirms Branislav Jánsky from the headhunting company R4U, saying that the current interesting thing is that today’s generation of young engineers no longer wants to travel so much. For example, they refuse positions that require them to be away from home for several months.

“Graduates in the fields of automation and robotics are already overwhelmed by the interest of companies during their studies. They have the opportunity to complete professional practice, an internship or write a diploma thesis. Basically, they will find a job even before they finish their studies, and companies are literally fighting for them,” adds Jánsky.
