Similar claims by hostile parties cannot be directly verified from independent sources in wartime conditions.

Ukraine launched an attack on targets in Sevastopol overnight today. Occupation authorities say the attack left one dead and five wounded, but that it was largely repelled. Air defense over Sevastopol shot down ten missiles, according to the announcement. However, footage can be seen on social networks, which, according to Ukrainian media, shows several attacks on the main communication center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

The Ukrainian Air Force used British-French Storm Shadow cruise missiles, called SCALP in France, for the attack, according to the media.

According to the authorities, the victim of the attack was a 65-year-old resident of the city, who was killed by shrapnel from one of the rockets.

Russia occupied the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in 2014 and annexed it in violation of international law. Ukraine repeatedly attacks Russian targets on the peninsula.

A Russian rocket hit a gas tank, and electricity had to be cut

On Sunday, Ukraine sharply increased its electricity imports and stopped its exports. The country’s largest private power producer, DTEK, lost 50 percent of its capacity after a series of attacks in recent days. This was reported by the Reuters agency with reference to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy. A Russian missile attack on Sunday hit an underground gas storage facility, Ukraine’s state energy company Naftogaz said.

According to Naftogaz, natural gas supplies to Ukrainian consumers are not at risk. Naftogaz is the largest Ukrainian oil and gas company.

“For this day, electricity imports of 14,900 megawatt hours (MWh) are expected. Exports are not expected,” the ministry said in a statement.

The day before the March 22 attacks, Ukraine imported 3,300 MWh of electricity, and exports then reached 2,148 MWh.

But on Friday, production and transmission facilities in the country were attacked by Russia, Ukrainians claim. This resulted in significant power outages in many regions. In three Ukrainian regions, according to the authorities, Russia attacked energy facilities this morning as well.

“We have already evaluated the losses (of Friday’s attack), the DTEK group lost 50 percent of its production capacity, we can say this information officially,” the head of the Jasno distribution company, Serhiy Kovalenko, said on state television. According to him, the Russians attacked production and distribution, hitting thermal and hydropower plants. “The enemy hit network nodes and transformers hard,” Kovalenko said.

The ministry said the Russians attempted to hit critical energy infrastructure facilities in the Lviv region today. “The equipment caught fire and the building was without power. There were no casualties, the consequences are being evaluated,” the office said. According to him, power lines in the Kyiv region were damaged and 1,400 households in two municipalities lost power.
