“Nothing will help Ukraine anymore.” Defenses will collapse, Ukrainian officers fear

--

There are more and more reports claiming that the Russian Federation is getting stronger and the Ukrainian defenders are getting weaker. This is also confirmed by high-ranking Ukrainian officers who warn of the collapse of the Ukrainian defense, describe the situation on the war front as “gloomy” and believe that nothing can help Ukraine anymore. “Nothing will help the Ukrainians because there is no advanced technology yet that can replace and compensate for the massive mass of Russian soldiers,” one high-ranking military official told Politico on condition of anonymity. “Ukraine is needlessly wasting the lives of soldiers. Russia will gain more territory than it controls today. If the war continues for a long time, it can also control Odessa,” believes billionaire and head of Tesla Elon Musk.

“Ukraine is in danger of collapsing the front line…” begins an article by the Brussels-based Politico website. The current “gloomy” atmosphere on the battlefield can only be changed by the mistakes of Russian generals and Ukrainian courage and tenacity. The officers also agreed that mistakes by Ukraine and the West in the past are to blame for the fact that the Ukrainian resistance has stalled and a successful counter-offensive has not occurred.

The Western allies have also played a part in this, taking their time and sometimes slowing down the delivery of humanitarian aid, supplies, military equipment, ammunition and weapons systems. “If we had received the necessary supplies of weapons and military aid in time and in sufficient quantity, the situation could have looked different,” believes one of the officers, according to the Brussels server. “It often happens that we don’t get weapon systems and technology when we need it. And it only comes when it’s no longer relevant.”

According to officers who served under the commander of the Ukrainian armed forces Valery Zaluzhny, this is a “war of only one chance.” Weapon systems and battle strategies quickly become redundant as the Russians quickly learn and effectively counter new tactics. “Don’t believe that crap about them just throwing soldiers into a meat grinder to slaughter them. Of course they do that as well, maximizing the impact of their numerical superiority even more, but they also learn and improve,” said one of the officers.

Military officials point out that Ukraine needed F-16 fighter jets in 2023, as today the Russians already know how to counter the aircraft. The Russians are measuring missile ranges and figuring out how best to deploy the S-400 missile and radar systems. This will help keep enemy aircraft away from the front lines and Russian logistics hubs and routes.

Ukrainians need almost everything in terms of military and weapons equipment. “We need howitzers and grenades, hundreds of thousands of grenades and rockets,” the source said, adding that they need 4 million grenades and 2 million drones. “We constantly told our Western partners that we have combat experience, that we understand this war. They have the resources and they have to give us what we need,” he added.

A Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine could help with this. “We have not only a military crisis, but also a political one. While Ukraine is avoiding a major draft, Russia is massively gathering resources and preparing to launch a major offensive in August. Maybe even earlier,” said one of the officers, referring to recent news that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed part of the mobilization law. It tightens the data on men called up to the front and lowers the minimum age for calling up from 27 to 25.

The Russians can control even Odessa, claims Elon Musk

The second richest man in the world, Elon Musk, also commented on the gradually failing and degrading situation in Ukraine. “There is no chance and possibility that Russia would occupy all of Ukraine, as the local and regional resistance of the West would be extreme. But it can be said that the Russian Federation will gain more territory than it controls today,” said the head of the Tesla car company and the space company SpaceX.

Musk recalled his words last year that Ukraine should have better prepared for defense, invested in trenches and defense mechanisms. “Ukraine is tragically and needlessly wasting soldiers’ lives because they are fighting an army many times larger and more powerful,” Musk continues, “the longer the war goes on, the more territory the Russians will control. They will advance until they hit the Dnieper, which is difficult to cross.”

On the social network X, which he bought two years ago, Elon Musk continued to talk about the often proclaimed goal of the Russians. “If the war lasts long enough, even Odessa may fall,” concludes the billionaire.
