A Russian ballistic missile attack left at least 13 injured in Odessa in southern Ukraine. The strike also caused a large-scale fire at the site, Reuters reported with reference to Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa region administration.

Videos and images posted on the Telegram platform show flames at the scene and large plumes of smoke rising into the sky. One of the media channels reported that the warehouse of a large postal and courier company was hit and published a video showing the moment of impact.

Reuters could not independently verify these reports. The courier company said late in the evening that its sorting warehouse in Odessa had been hit by a missile, but it said no employees had been hit. Odessa is a frequent target of Russian attacks. Three people were killed and three others injured in a Russian airstrike on the port city overnight today.

The attacks were also carried out by Ukraine during the night of today, whose drones damaged the energy infrastructure in the western Russian Orlov region, the local governor Andrei Klychkov said in a telegram. According to him, the damage to the infrastructure led to a partial interruption of electricity supplies to some households. He did not mention possible victims. The attack was also announced by the head of the nearby Smolensk region, Vasiliy Anokhin. Kyiv did not comment on their statement.

The damage in the Orlovsk region was caused by the debris of downed drones, which were intercepted by Russian air defense, Klyčkov said. According to Anokhin, rescue forces intervened in the Smolensk region, where Ukrainian drones were also shot down by anti-aircraft defense. “The enemy tried to cause damage to civilian energy infrastructure equipment. There are no casualties,” said the governor of the region bordering Belarus. He did not specify which device was the target of the attack.

In recent months, Ukraine has directed its drone attacks at Russian oil refineries and warehouses, Reuters noted. Some of the strikes have been claimed by Kiev as legitimate targets of facilities fueling Russia’s war effort.
