A car crashed into the gate of the White House, the driver died on the spot

According to statements quoted by The Guardian, the accident occurred shortly after half past eleven in the evening. U.S. Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said of her on the X social network that she posed “no threat to the White House” or “no threat to public safety.”

“Safety protocols were implemented, officers cleared the vehicle and attempted to assist the driver, who was found deceased,” the Secret Service said in a statement. The driver has only been identified by Washington DC police as an “adult male” and the incident is being investigated as a “mere traffic accident.”

Another driver crashed into the outer gate of the White House in January. He survived the crash and was taken into custody, diagnosed with mental health issues. Just a few weeks earlier, a drunk driver crashed into the motorcade accompanying President Joe Biden.

More frightening was the case from last April, when a moving truck with a Nazi banner crashed into the security barriers across the street from the White House. The driver of the car was identified as 19-year-old Sai Varsith Kandula of Chesterfield, Missouri. He was subsequently accused of destroying state property.

Even Donald Trump had his problems with drivers in the White House. In 2019, one tried to get into the presidential complex by squeezing behind a passing authorized vehicle. The Secret Service subsequently increased the security fence around the White House from 1.8 meters to 4 meters.
