For the money from the Slovak collection, there will be several wagons with artillery shells for Ukraine

--

The organizers announced that they will buy 122 millimeter artillery shells for the mentioned amount and they want to get them to Ukraine by the end of the summer. They selected this ammunition after consultation with Ukraine, based on their request and on the basis of consultation with the Czech Republic, which is the initiator of the international collection for financing ammunition for Ukraine.

“2692 pieces, that’s several railway wagons or fully loaded trucks that we want to deliver to Ukraine,” said Fedor Blaščák, one of the organizers of the collection.

In the coming days, the organizers of the collection will sign a three-way moratorium, and then the purchase itself will follow. The Czech government found a way to connect the money obtained in the form of a Slovak collection to the Czech international initiative.

“This collection continues the Slovak-Czech and Czech-Slovak alliance and partnership in the 20th century,” added Blaščák.

On Wednesday, the collection account had 4,175,743 euros (over 104 million crowns), which had been sent by 65,563 donors in 23 days.

The government of Prime Minister Robert Fico did not join the Czech initiative, the Prime Minister ridiculed the collection with the expression that it was like “farting into Stromovka”.
