About a third (34%) of people in 52 countries believe that the United States, the EU and NATO did not do enough to help Ukraine during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. At the same time, half of respondents believe that the US, EU and NATO have done enough to help Ukraine (46%), while 19% think they have done too much, the Democracy Perceptions Index 2024 showed.

Respondents were asked whether the US, EU and NATO did too little, enough or too much to help Ukraine during the Russian invasion, the website reported RBC-Ukraine.

According to the analysis, the share of those who feel that too little has been done to help Ukraine is decreasing, while the share of those who say that too much has been done is increasing.

Aid fatigue is particularly prevalent in Germany, where 40% of respondents expressed the opinion that too much had been done to help Ukraine, the most of any country surveyed. It is followed by China (37%), Austria (37%) and Hungary (31%).

The survey was conducted in 53 countries among 63 thousand respondents.

According to this February’s KIIS 2024 survey, 49% of Ukrainians said the West still supports their country. However, 44% believed that the West is tired of Ukraine and that its support is weak.

After more than two years since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the situation on the front for Ukraine is becoming critical. Russia maintains a tactical advantage and has consolidated military control over the occupied territory. The US House of Representatives has already approved financial and material support for Ukraine.
