Impressive range. A Ukrainian drone hit a Russian refinery after a 1,500 km flight

--

According to sources on the Kyiv Post website, the drone directly hit the oil processing equipment at the Gazprom oil refinery.

“This operation shows the formidable technological capabilities of the SBU (Ukrainian secret service – editor’s note), capable of inflicting significant blows on the enemy. It sends a clear message that Russian refineries and tank factories are not beyond our reach or deep behind the military-industrial complex,” the website quoted its source as saying that the distance traveled by the drone could be a historical record.

According to the server, the refinery in the city of Salavat is one of the largest plants in Russia specializing in the production of gasoline, diesel and other petroleum products. The leader of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, Rabij Khabirov, also admitted the drone attack on the oil complex.

He claimed that the refinery was operating normally after the strike, which came about after one o’clock in the afternoon local time. “This is an attempt to denigrate our holiday, we are not going to succumb to provocations. Happy Victory Day everyone once again!” Khabirov wrote, referring to the fact that Russia commemorates the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II on May 9.

It was the first such strike in Bashkortostan since the beginning of the current Russian invasion of Ukraine more than two years ago, noted the exile website The Moscow Times. He added that already at the beginning of April this year, drones hit the third largest Russian refinery in neighboring Tatarstan, which is located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The Politicko website recently reported that a wave of Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries deep in Russia has reached the unthinkable – the world’s largest oil nation is running out of gasoline. At the same time, he pointed out that the prices of diesel and gasoline for the Russian consumer are skyrocketing. As a result of the Ukrainian attacks, Moscow has cut fuel exports to near historic lows, according to the website.
