If you know even a little bit about Tina Turner’s life story, you will surely remember her very complicated marriage with Ike Turner. It also manifested itself during the divorce, when Tina managed to sue only her stage name (she was born Anna Mea Bullock). She didn’t have it easy, Ike claimed that Tina Turner was his trademark. “I don’t want your blood money, I don’t want any jewellery, I don’t want anything,” Tina told the court. “There is only one thing that matters to me. My name!”

In the end, it wasn’t just the name, Tina got two very nice cars from her marriage – Jaguar XJ6 and XK-E. The cover photo is probably from 1973, it was taken in the garage of a house in the View Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Both jaguars were given to Tina as a gift. The first from Sammy Davis Jr., who thanked Tina in such a stylish way for co-acting on the show “Name of the Game. Ike then bought the XKE model for Tina. “I don’t even have enough to eat right now, but I still own two jaguars,” Tina said at the time.

The Jaguar XJ6 was the very first model in the luxury XJ line, first introduced in 1968. Moreover, it was the very last car in which Sir William Lyons, co-founder of Jaguar, was still involved. The XK-E model was one of the most classic Jaguars – it was an E-Type, for the American market it only had the letters XK added before the letter E.

Tina Turner died on Wednesday at the age of 83 after a long illness.
