Jeep presented four Easter Safari concepts, this time in a retro spirit

--

The Easter Jeep Safari event in the Moab desert, where fans and owners of Jeep vehicles regularly meet, admire modern and classic cars and overcome challenging natural obstacles, is traditionally also associated with the presentation of various concepts directly from the car manufacturer’s workshop.

In the past, the brand also presented electrified concepts here, but now it is betting more on a retro style, which is also emphasized by bold colors. What is interesting is the fact that the brand exhibited only four concepts this year, while in previous years it drove up to seven vehicles.

This year’s quartet consists of two modified Jeep Wrangler models, one modified Jeep Gladiator pick-up, and the brand’s most luxurious model, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, also got a chance to shine.

The Jeep Wrangler may be electric only from 2028, but it will get a range extender

Let’s start with the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept, which harkens back to the seventies with its paint and exterior styling. The automaker gave him modified bumpers and more space in the fenders, where 40-inch off-road tires could fit. The air suspension offers height adjustment and the axles have received stronger differentials.

The cabin has undergone only minor changes, such as new leather upholstery that matches the color of the exterior. The body then received lockable storage spaces. Under the hood remained the standard 3.6-liter V6 engine in combination with an automatic transmission.

The first modified Jeep Wrangler is a bit deceiving in its name. While the Jeep Low Down designation indicates a lowering of the chassis, its ground clearance remained standard. However, thanks to the new carbon fenders, 42″ off-road tires managed to get into the wheel arches. This combination should mean a lower center of gravity and better handling, which drivers will definitely appreciate.

Under the hood, the middle part of which is newly transparent, is a 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine, offering over 470 horsepower. The concept is painted in a distinctive red color Poison Apple Red, the cabin is upholstered in black leather and its shading is provided by the so-called bikini top roof.

The green-painted Jeep Willys Dispatcher concept, on the other hand, offers a combination of old and new. The simply conceived concept, which impresses with the Willys logo on the hood, a simple exterior color, a massive winch on a simple front bumper and 16″ white painted steel wheels, hides a plug-in hybrid powertrain with the traditional 4×e designation.

The retro style is underlined by seats upholstered in brown leather, which lack headrests, or brown decors in the dashboard. However, the car’s off-road capabilities are underscored by the higher performance of the hybrid powertrain in combination with reinforced Dana 50 axles and a modified reduction gearbox.

Jeep concepts for the traditional Easter Jeep Safari event

The latest concept, based on the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, was given the stylish name Jeep Vacationeer Concept. It already impresses from a distance with its pastel Spearmint paint, which is complemented on the sides by a line reminiscent of the wooden paneling of older Jeep Wagoneer models. The car also impresses with additional lights, a hidden winch and a roof tent.

The cabin has a retro design with light brown upholstery, wooden decorations and checkered fabric on the front seats. However, the rear rows of seats disappeared from the car, creating space for comfortable camping, and especially for access to the roof tent from the inside of the car.

The chassis remained standard, but thanks to modified fenders and wheel arches, the automaker managed to put the car on 35″ off-road tires, which slightly increased the ground clearance. Conquering more demanding terrain will then be made even easier by the protection of the chassis.

The Jeep Avenger will finally get all-wheel drive, arriving at the end of the year
