The summer season will be the worst in history, but we have prepared full measures to ensure its smooth running, even if the loss of hundreds of employees will be repeated, said the spokesman. The information was brought by The Guardian portal.

It is expected that the number of passengers this year will reach 82.4 million, which would break the record from 2019, when 80.9 million passengers passed through it. We will serve more passengers and destinations at any time in advance. We are ready to continue fulfilling our goals, Javier Echave, the financial editor of the flight, let himself be heard.

However, the trade union organization Unite announced at the beginning of this week that hundreds of Heathrow employees will join the dispute over the outsourcing of jobs. She added that a group of 800 of them will start a weekly session from May 7 to 13.

Reasons for satisfaction

London’s Heathrow Airport has just published its financial results for the first quarter. Retail revenue rose 12.8 percent year-on-year to 168 million pounds (K4.5 billion), according to The Moodie Davitt Report. The number of checked-in passengers increased by 9.5 percent to 18.5 million. The increase in retail demand was contributed both by the number of pasar and, for example, good results in the area of parking lots, the company said.

As a result, passenger growth on key routes such as Delhi or Mumbai was supported by strong North American traffic and rapidly growing demand in East Asia (+40 percent compared to Q1 2023).

The total number of flights to Heathrow fell slightly (-0.7 percent) to 808 million pounds (22 billion K) in the quarter year-on-year, the regulated fees introduced by Adam for civil aviation had a negative effect on air transport revenues. Operating expenses for aircraft, employment and pilot training also increased by double digits in the same period.

Heathrow went straight to the satisfaction of all passengers. In the first months of 2024, overall passenger satisfaction reached its highest level since the first quarter of 2022. Many categories showed an improvement compared to the first quarter of 2023, including the quality of Wi-Fi services, ease of transfer, time at security checks or check-in speed. On the other hand, according to passengers, old restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as the entrance signs to the terminals, burned down.
