According to preliminary results, the number of employees of construction companies with 50 or more employees in the Liberec region decreased by 1.5% between years, their average gross monthly wage increased by 6.5%. The volume of basic construction products increased by 2.8%.

In 2023, there were 11 medium and large construction companies (companies with 50 or more employees) in the Liberec region, employing 1,474 people. Compared to 2022, their number decreased by 23 people (-1.5%).

In the meantime, the number of employees was recorded by construction companies in another 8 regions. The relatively greatest decrease was in the Karlovy Vary region (-17.1%, -117 persons), the largest absolute number of people left was in the Steča region (-339 persons, -6.0%). In the remaining 5 regions, employment in the listed construction companies developed the same way, the increase in the number of employees then ranged from +0.04% in the Moravian-Silesian region to +10.9% in the Krlovhradecky region. The Liberec region accounted for 1.9% of the total number of employees of construction companies in the Czech Republic (78,946 people), i.e. the 2nd lowest after the Karlovy Vary region (0.7%). The largest number of employees were employed by construction companies in the capital city of Prague (30,174 persons, i.e. 38.2%).

Basic construction work (ZSV) in the volume of 3,849 million. The Liberec region ranked 3rd lowest in the inter-regional comparison. Meanwhile, the value of work carried out by medium and large enterprises in the region increased by K 104 million, i.e. +2.8%. As a result of the mentioned result, the number of domestic works in the field of land construction (+19.4%), engineering construction recorded a 10.4% drop. In the total volume of ZSV, works in the field of civil engineering were represented by 49.2%, according to engineering construction it reached 44.9%.

All other regions except the South Region, in which the ZSV decreased by 2.9%, recorded an increase in the number of construction works. The most striking figure was shown in the fall of the Plzeň region (+20.8%), which, with the volume of construction work in the amount of 10,074 million, was ranked 7th in the inter-regional comparison. The lowest rate outside ZSV was recorded in the Steck region (+1.1%), followed by the n region. The largest volume of ZSV was implemented in the capital city of Prague (K103,424 million). In 8 regions, works related to civil engineering existed in the structure of the ZSV, in addition to our region, in the regions of Karlovy Vary, Krlovradecky and all Moravian regions. Meziron’s share of ZSV in the area of ​​land construction was highest in the Moravian-Silesian region (+40.5%), while in the regions of Steck, Krlovhradecky, Pardubice and the Vysoina region there was a slight decrease. In 2023, the Moravian-Silesian region, on the other hand, recorded the largest decrease, namely a one-quarter decrease in the volume of engineering constructions. By dream mining in the regions of South Moravia and Olomouc, the highest level of engineering construction was recorded in the region of Krlovhradecky (+29.3%).

Productivity of work from basic construction products (i.e. number of volume of basic construction products per 1 worker) in 2023 in the Liberec Region increased by 4.4% to 2,611 thousand. To bnch prices. The value increased by 404 thousand. K was below the national average and ranked 5th lowest in the inter-regional comparison. The highest productivity was recorded in the capital city of Prague (3,428 thousand K), the lowest in the Zlnsk region (2,024 thousand K). The largest share of this indicator was recorded by construction companies from the Karlovy Vary region (+32.6%), productivity decreased in two regions, namely Krlovro (-0.1%) and Jihoesk (-2.8%).

The average gross monthly salary of employees of medium-sized and large construction companies in the Liberec Region reached K45,601 in 2023, which is K2,765 (6.5%) more than the average. The average increase in wages decreased in the other regions, while the smallest absolute and relative increase was recorded in the Plzeň region (+2,380 K, i.e. +5.0% to 49,606 K). Employees of construction companies in the capital city of Prague paid the absolute highest (+5,896 CZK to 57,237 CZK), slightly less in the Karlovy Vary Region (+5,836 CZK to 37,904 CZK), and this was the highest relative rate (+18 .2%). Against the average of the Czech Republic (K49,776), the salary in our region was K4,175 lower and was the 7th highest among the two regions. The least amount was received by employees in construction companies in the Krlovhradecky region (37,153 K), most in the capital city of Prague.
