A homeless man bought alcohol for his friends with other people’s money: He misused a payment card, do you recognize him?

--

The owner lost the card in mid-February. Apparently, an unknown man found her on the street, but he didn’t behave too honestly – instead of returning her, he decided to try her on. He made repeated purchases at the grocery store until the card was blocked. Most often, he drank alcohol, causing damage worth more than two thousand.

Detectives secured CCTV footage from the supermarket, on which the avid shopper is very well recorded, and immediately began a search for him. As it is probably a homeless man, the detectives first went to places where there are people living on the street, but they came across them very quickly,” described the course of the investigation, police spokesman Richard Hrdina.

A man in the homeless community was giving away purchased alcohol for free, so no one wants to reveal who he is. The police have therefore released the camera footage and are asking the public for help. “If you recognize the man on the camera footage, or if you have any information that would lead to his finding, please contact 158,” the spokesman added, stating that the man is suspected of committing the crime of unauthorized measure, forgery and altering a means of payment, for which he can spend up to two years behind bars if convicted.
