Olomouc, April 27, 2024 (PROTEXT) – From Monday, April 22, drivers will not pass through the municipality of Horka nad Moravou in Olomouc. The repair of the road in its center towards Chomoutov has started here. The closed section starts from the intersection of Skrbeňská, Olomoucká and Náměstí Osvobození streets. Drivers must take detours and expect a time delay of approximately 10 minutes.
Luděk Tichý (YES), mayor, Horka nad Moravou: “The first bypass route is from Sedlisko to Chomoutov and the city of Olomouc, and the second route is the existing Skrbeňská and Olomoucká streets.”
In the village, this is the second stage of reconstruction, which follows the already repaired Olomoucká road. If everything goes according to plan, drivers will pass this way already in autumn 2024.
Luděk Tichý (YES), mayor, Horka nad Moravou: “During this reconstruction, in addition to the structural layers of the road and new asphalt, we will also implement new sidewalks, relocation of utility networks and public lighting, entrances to family houses and parking bays. A pedestrian crossing will also be newly built, which will be safer for children walking to school .”
Resident of Horka nad Moravou: “We are all happy because the road was already in a deplorable state. As it is constantly being glued and maintained, trucks, tractors, empty flatbeds make a huge noise when driving. And of course it is also dangerous for pedestrians. There is a lot of traffic here. It is here a complete rescue for us, we’ve been waiting for it.”
Luděk Tichý (YES), mayor, Horka nad Moravou: “The reason for the reconstruction is quite clear! It’s the badness and danger of communication. The roads are from the 1960s of the last century. There is almost no subsoil on them.”
Total cost of road repair III. classes in the property of the Olomouc region amounts to almost 28 million crowns.
Luděk Tichý (YES), mayor, Horka nad Moravou: “Out of this, the municipality of Horka nad Moravou pays a part outside of communication, and it is 19 million 500 thousand crowns without VAT.”
The complete closure also applies to city public transport buses.
Anna Sýkorová, DPMO press spokesperson: “The restriction will affect line number 20 and will be in the section between Chomoutov, škola and Farmak stops in both directions. The Skrbeň and Horka, škola stops will be served on the alternative route. The Horka, municipal office stop will not be served.”
The complete closure of the municipal extension will end at the beginning of September.
