After the farmers’ protest in front of the government headquarters in March, the Prague police reported three protesters to the authorities for misdemeanors. Two for traffic pollution, one for violating public order and civil coexistence. The Municipal District of Prague 1 and the municipality of the capital city will deal with the announcements.

Farmers came on March 7 to express their disapproval of some of the government’s actions, which, according to them, do not protect their interests. The Agrarian Chamber estimated that 3,000 to 4,000 farmers and 1,000 pieces of agricultural machinery arrived in Prague at the time.

After more than three weeks, hundreds of tractors drove through the streets of the capital again, farmers came to protest again. The police arrested a person who left a pile of manure on the street and tram tracks in front of the Strakova Academy. Later, they also detained a protester who was trying to climb over the barricades at the government office.

The police had a thirty-day deadline to report violations. “We reported two offenses due to traffic pollution to the administrative body of the Municipal District for Prague 1 and the City Hall. city ​​of Prague. One for violation of public order and civil coexistence in the Prague 1 district,” summed up the police spokesman Jan Danek. He explained that in addition to the two people they arrested at the scene, the police reported to the authorities one more person whom they did not arrest.

Today’s farmers’ demonstration required additional police assistance. After the manure situation, the IZS units dealt with a traffic accident in the Letenský tunnel, where a tractor collided head-on with a car. According to the police, the tractor driver was driving in the opposite direction.

Pursuant to the Road Traffic Act, pollution or damage to a highway, road or local road is punishable by a fine of up to three hundred thousand crowns. An offense against public order is committed, among other things, by anyone who disobeys the call of an official, for which a fine of up to ten thousand crowns can be imposed. An offense against civil cohabitation can then be punished with a fine of up to ten thousand or up to twenty thousand crowns, depending on the type of action.
