“On March 25, based on a notification made to the emergency line, police officers from the Local Department of Smíchovské nádraží in Prague 5 intervened, where the health of a man collapsed in a locked vehicle. The man stopped the car in the middle of the road, thus making it impossible for other drivers to pass. It was the driver of the vehicle, which remained blocked behind him, who decided to get out and find out what happened here,” explained Prague police officer Kristýna Soukupová.
When the man looked into the car, he immediately realized that the driver was not well and called for help. But since the driver did not respond to any external stimuli, it was necessary to open the car using force.
“Police officers from the local department reacted to the situation in such a way that one of them broke the back window of the car using a telescopic baton so that the person trapped inside was not injured,” said Soukupová.
Together with the firemen, the police managed to get the man out of the car, hand him over to the rescuers and immediately start resuscitation. Emergency services then took the man to hospital for further treatment.
