In the afternoon, the legionary community will commemorate the anniversary of the execution of SOS members

The anniversary was commemorated by the chairman of Jednota Cs. of the legionary community in Mladá Boleslav Tomáš Pilvousek. “On Wednesday, April 3, we will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the mass execution of the leading representatives of one of the most important resistance groups operating in the lower Pojizerá region. The group under the command of the reserve officer of the former Czechoslovak Republic. of the army and surveying engineer Miloš Mejsnar came to be known under the name SOS – State Defense Guard,” he said, adding that the group was a continuation of the organization formed as part of the state border defense system in 1938.

“A large part of the inhabitants of Krnsko, Chotětov, Bezno and other municipalities joined the structures of the illegal movement. Its liquidation in February 1944 was followed by several executions, the largest of which took place on April 3, 1944,” he added.

This afternoon’s program will commemorate this sad anniversary. At 4:30 p.m., a memorial meeting will take place in Chotětov at the monument to the victims of the war. Half an hour later, a commemorative meeting will take place at the monument in Krnsko, and from 5:30 p.m. there will be a discussion with a lecture about the resistance in Pojizeří at the Jizera restaurant in Jizerní Vtelna.
