The Czech Republic has a good name in the world thanks to the passive surveillance systems that are developed and produced by the Pardubice company ERA under the name VERA. In many places in Europe and the world, this technology is used to strengthen air defense. As part of the European Union’s peace initiative, Moldova will now also be able to rely on this unique Czech system.

In recent days, the ERA company announced that it has concluded a cooperation agreement with the Estonian Center for Defense Investments ECDI, within the framework of which the Czech passive surveillance system will strengthen the defense capability of the Republic of Moldova. This will happen within the framework of the European EFP (European Peace Facility) program.
“The originally Czech and globally unique passive surveillance technology will serve as one of the basic pillars of the newly built complex air defense system of Moldova. The VERA-NG system will be integrated with other solutions and thus contribute to increasing the country’s ability to monitor, i.e. defend its airspace,” Lenka Stejskalová Reichová explained in the press releaseERA spokesperson.
“All European Union projects designed to support Moldova’s defense capabilities improve our mutual cooperation. As an integrator of this project, we are pleased to be able to contribute our experience to the technology procurement process, be it air defense systems, communication systems or armored combat vehicles,” said Magnus-Valdemar Saar, ECDI director.
The VERA-NG delivery project is another important milestone in the EU’s ongoing efforts to help countries strengthen their defences. “By providing cutting-edge technologies and concluding strategic partnerships, we contribute to maintaining a safe world,” said Ondřej Chlost, CEO of ERA.
