/PHOTO, VIDEO/ Done! For almost a year, the bridge in Pražská street was being repaired in Vaňov, where drivers faced minor traffic restrictions the whole time. The reconstruction ended up taking longer than it should have, by more than seven months. The Directorate of Roads and Highways has already completed the bridge, and the place has returned to traditional traffic in terms of traffic.

The repair of the bridge was started by the ŘSD in May 2023 with the aim of completing it within four months. It failed, the deadline got delayed. “There were problems with pumping water there, which was related to the stabilization and securing of the slope,” explained directorate spokeswoman Kamila Zahálková.

The bridge is currently finished, reconstructed, according to the ŘSD, its technical lifespan is now more than forty years. The construction in the original plans was supposed to cost 6.5 million crowns, but the price increased to around 10 million crowns. The car drove around the construction site in two narrow lanes, but the drivers were most bothered by the extension of the predetermined deadline.
