The spring stage of Flora Olomouc has started. The nationwide exhibition of plants and flowers opened to the public on Thursday, April 25. People can view the four-day exhibition called Galaxy of Flowers at the Flora Olomouc Exhibition Center in the largest pavilion A. But the exhibition offers much more. Spring Flora for the Olomouc Region was opened by Governor Josef Suchánek, Deputy Governor Ivo Slavotínek and regional councilors Aleš Jakubec and Petr Lysek also attended the start of the exhibition.
The main exhibition called Galaxy of Flowers offers visitors a unique world full of bright colors and spring and exotic flowers. The exhibition is tuned to the space theme and its author is the renowned florist Jan Milt. The central theme of the pavilion is the ellipse symbol representing the orbit on which the exposition is built.
Three hundred sellers and exhibitors filled the entire area. In the main pavilion A, people can view flower products from well-known flower shops or secondary schools. In pavilion G, visitors can try panning for gold, pressing oil or distilling lavender.
Gardening markets and a bonsai exhibition are part of the traditional spring Flora. This year, a yew tree that is more than five hundred years old can be seen. There is also a rich accompanying program focused on professional seminars and lectures, workshops for hobby gardeners, floristic shows and competitions.
