Scientists from the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic have developed a new method for better production of two-dimensional materials, which are the thinnest nanomaterials. Until now, their development often required manual handling, while the materials were often contaminated and defective. Extremely clean 2D materials are prepared by domestic experts in a unique device in which ultra-high vacuum conditions prevail.

47 million years ago, a giant monster lumbered through the swamps in what is now India. This is evidenced by the fossilized vertebrae of a snake up to 15 meters long, which would surpass even the most famous ancient predator Tyrannosaurus rex in length. A giant reptile named Vasuki indicus resembled today’s pythons. And like these snakes of today, it was not venomous, but suffocated its victims with its powerful grip. It could be the largest snake ever discovered.

Technical progress and knowledge cannot be stopped. Especially in the 21st century, development is so rapid that those who have been standing for a while are now standing further away!
