Cestovky will offer direct flights from Prague, Brno and Ostrava

--

Czech travel companies are strengthening the segment of winter trips to exotic destinations. After the end of the current season, which sent tens of thousands of Czechs to distant regions, plans for next winter are already being prepared. And the offer will expand considerably, both in terms of the number of destinations offered, and also in the possibilities of where to fly from for an exotic vacation.

Exotic destinations attract more and more clients every year. Tens of thousands of Czech tourists take trips to countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, the Dominican Republic or Sri Lanka every year between October and April. A second, so-called winter holiday is becoming the norm for more and more people, travel agency data confirms.

They therefore respond with an expanding range of exotic destinations and services, the most valuable of which are direct flights from Prague or Bratislava airports.

Tens of thousands of clients

The largest travel group on the Czech market, DER Touristik CZ, which covers the Fischer, Exim tours and NEV-DAMA brands, is significantly expanding its portfolio with new destinations starting this autumn.

From Prague, it will fly directly to Mexico, Kenya, Bahrain, Vietnam, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. In addition, Fischer and Exim are changing their strategy and will now be using aircraft with a business configuration throughout the year. This step also includes an agreement with Smartwings, thanks to which the DER Touristik group will offer business class year-round to the most popular destinations, including the Mediterranean.

“It has been shown that a direct flight significantly increases the attractiveness of exotic destinations. Since October, we have taken over 20,000 clients to these three destinations alone, and flights on the Airbus A350 are 95 percent full. Overall, we have seen a two-fold increase in exotic destinations this year, and over 50,000 clients have gone on holiday with us. From autumn, we will expand the offer with direct flights to Mexico, Kenya, Bahrain and offer a new area in Cuba. We want to take our product to the next level, so we will also use aircraft with a business configuration. The demand for business class comfort is clearly there,” explains Jiří Jelínek, executive director of DER Touristik Eastern Europe.

New business class

DER Touristik CZ used aircraft of the Spanish airline W2Fly during the currently ending exotic season. This cooperation will continue in the future.

The large-capacity Airbus A350 will be used by Fischer and Exim tours for flights to Mexico and Vietnam. The Dominican Republic and Cuba will be flown with the Airbus A330, which will also have 30 seats in business class,” said group spokesman Jan Bezděk.

The other two novelties in the offer – Bahrain and Kenya – will be served by the Czech airline Smartwings, which will exclusively provide the Boeing 737 MAX with 16 business seats for these flights. This configuration will also be used by Fischer and Exim tours in the winter season for flights to Oman, Ras Al Khaimah, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and the Cape Verde Islands,” added Bezděk.

Čedok also offers exotic destinations operated by direct flights. The oldest domestic travel company is preparing a major innovation for the upcoming exotic season, starting in the fall, in the form of the possibility to fly to distant destinations from smaller regional airports.

“Next winter season, we will open not only the next chapter of Čedok, but also the Ostrava and Brno airports. For the first time in history, tourists will have the opportunity to fly from their region to two exotic destinations – Phuket in Thailand and Mauritius. In this way, we are continuing our vision, where we want to be closer to clients and enable them to travel comfortably and discover the world,” said CEO of Čedok, Stanislav Zeman.

Čedok will cooperate with the Neos airline on these flights. Charter flights to Southeast Asia and to an island in the Indian Ocean will be provided by the modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in turquoise colors of the Italian carrier, which offers seats in three classes, an entertainment portal and Wi-Fi connection on its decks,” adds Kateřina Pavlíková, spokeswoman for Čedok.
