In the 30th round of FORTUNA:LIGA, SK Sigma Olomouc football players will play at home with Sparta Prague. While the Hanáci are still fighting for which group they will continue in the season, their opponent already has the first place clear before the extension.
“We are really looking forward to the match, because a sold-out stadium to the last seat is a unique situation for us. These are the moments we do football for, it’s the reward. And I believe that we will be a good opponent for the favorites,” said Jiří Saňák, coach of SK Sigma. “It will be about humility again. We are aware of the quality of the opponent, which is unequivocal. Sparta is a slightly different opponent than Slavia in terms of typology and style of play. We will need similar attributes to last week to succeed again this time. Again, it’s about believing in one’s own strength, but also about self-sacrifice for the team,” he pointed out.
Last weekend, Olomouc surprised and defeated Slavia, now Sparta awaits them. “Sparta has been playing three four three for a long time and is bringing players into that system. The structure, way of playing and overall philosophy is different from Slavia. But I certainly wouldn’t dare to say what is better and worse. Both teams are excellent. The beauty of football is that there are different paths to success, and in particular Slavia and Sparta also show that,” said Saňák.
The match between SK Sigma Olomouc and Sparta Prague will be played on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. Delegated to the match was a trio of referees consisting of Ondřej Pechanec – Petr Caletka, Jiří Kříž.
