In the premises of the Gabriel Loci Monastery in Smíchov, where, among other things, films and series from domestic and foreign production are regularly filmed, fashion shows and cultural events including theater and concerts take place, on Friday, April 26, the popular outdoor Bar Gabriel opens to the public again with a capacity for three hundred people.
“This year we decided to install electric lamps, and in bad weather we are counting on the possibility of covering an outdoor tent, which can fit around 80 people. There is also an outdoor grill available in the summer that people can rent for themselves as well.” he says Robin Krbec, who is in charge of the operation of Bar Gabriel.
The sought-after premises of the former Benedictine monastery near the Kinský Garden, where the Czech Post Office was located in the past, belong to the CIMEX company, which has many years of experience in investing in historic buildings and real estate management.
It was under the management of the CIMEX company, which bought the monastery at the end of 2019, that the complex in Prague’s Smíchov came to life thanks to cultural events, studios for more than sixty artists and a program associated with a summer cinema and a summer theater scene.
“We are very happy to have opened our Bar Gabriel for the fourth time this year. Over the summer, we are also preparing the second edition of the Zlobení pro děti festival and, now, the Naruby film festival,” continues Magdalena Dvorská, project manager Gabriel Loci.
One of the many attractions of Bar Gabriel will be the re-opened fire pit, where visitors can roast pork chops. You can also choose from a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, selected wines from different parts of the world, as well as meat and vegetarian dishes.
The bar will be open to the public every day from 16:00 to 22:00 and is also suitable for families with children, and owners of dogs and other pets are also welcome.
