Another DBA (traffic safety event) took place in our region on Friday, we bring you the full detailed report of the Police of the Czech Republic:

“During the first quarter, we recorded an increase in tragic traffic accidents, in which 13 human lives were lost. The most common cause was the wrong way of driving, namely not paying attention to driving, often in combination with excessive speed.

For this reason, another traffic safety event took place on Friday, April 26, with an emphasis on inattention to driving and compliance with speed limits. Traffic police officers in the Pilsen region checked a total of 248 vehicles and found 101 violations.
Most often, drivers did not comply with the set speed, in 30 cases, when 17 drivers violated the speed limit in the village and 13 outside the village. The second most frequently detected violation, in twenty-six cases, was using the phone while driving. Twelve drivers did not wear their seat belts and the same number of drivers drove onto our road with a vehicle that was in poor technical condition.

On the same day, in the night hours, traffic police officers from the Plzeň Municipal Police Directorate carried out another control action, during which they focused on compliance with the conditions of operating a taxi service. Together with the police, workers from the transport department of the City of Pilsen went to the inspection and immediately took over the detected violation on the spot.
The police officers checked the obligations of legal entities or physically entrepreneurial persons operating road transport, the obligations of taxi drivers, the proper marking of taxi vehicles and also the equipment of taxi vehicles with prescribed requirements.

The police officers stopped a total of 22 taxi service vehicles for inspection and found 14 offenses in the area of operating a taxi service. In nine cases, they referred the carrier’s violation to an administrative body for consideration, and in five cases, they resolved the violation with an on-the-spot order for a violation in the area of operating a taxi service. Some drivers carried out their activities without a properly verified taxi meter, and in other cases the taxi drivers did not have proof of business authorization, they did not have a properly completed transport record or they had the taxi driver’s license incorrectly placed.”
