You can find out about this and much more in the newsletter of the editor of Europe, which is about the Czech role in Europe and the day in the European Union. This week, the European Commission gave the long-awaited “stamp” for the completion of the nuclear power plant in Dukovany. Many people discussing on social networks were angry, why does Brussels have to decide whether we build something or not. He decided not to undertake the construction itself, but planned to provide help for it, which he oversaw the commission. The financial architecture of the project worth hundreds of billions of crowns is complex, which is why it took two years to approve the notification. People in the commission declared the Czech model of public support, according to the information of the editor of Europe, a “trailblazer”, i.e. a trailblazer, which could be inspired by others. In what conversation?

Ursula and the armor

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenov, was in Prague on the eve of the accession to the EU. Apart from https://twitter.com/vonderleyen/status/1785372534025642371 and only “their” Eurolidovc (KDU-SL, TOP 09) spoke like that to the Czech soldiers. Together with the purchase of ammunition, they are something he wants to do if he wins a mandate after the European elections in June. von der Leyenov’s first steps in the Czech Republic led to the headquarters of CSG Group in Prague, where there were also representatives of the companies Colt and STV, which supply to Ukraine – for which the commission commended them. she was also in the new position of the European Commission for the defense industry, which I am talking about. But nothing was written to the country, said the editor of Europe. For? Before the election, von der Leyenov does not want to commit to it.

Let’s clarify: let’s not celebrate joining the EU

We constantly repeat to ourselves how wonderful and convenient it is for us to be a member of the EU. It’s true, but it’s time to move on – 20 years after joining the EU, we’ll end up with an absurd debate about whether to leave or not. We can’t sit on the list of brainless people who claim that the Czech Republic should withdraw from the twenty-seventh, we don’t take this discussion at all. Let’s engage in many other debates, but with strength – let’s come together with other countries with proposals on how the EU should change and develop the kind of union we would like. We now have two options. It’s these.

They brought us to the union

Bringing the Czech Republic to the EU did not happen by itself. Politicians certainly had a big opinion, but they gave people daily work outside the constant attention of the crowd. Let’s choose three, each of them represents something: Pavel Telika, Jana Reinischov, Jaroslav Zajek, Karel Bartk. How can you remember what was the most difficult part of the EU accession negotiations and how to find clarity after 20 years since the entry of the values? Find out here. Bartok then went from the newspaper to the European Commission, and he has one piece of advice for the most powerful EU institution. You can find her in this video interview.

It’s not that bad

Europe lags behind the USA economically, but it is certainly not as dramatic as people (dis)interpret it. How is it really? What was the EU’s biggest economy? And what is wrong with the US, on the other hand? Ondej Houska and Michal Pr explain it in the Brussels dictation podcast. Add the still-unknown details of Petr Fiala’s journey to the Holy House and explain one phenomenon that may decide the European Parliament elections in Czech. And do you know that there is a new hoax after all, and it involves, of course, Germany? The whole of the Brussels dictation is on HeroHero and Gazetisto.

Be watched: That’s what Macron said

The French president moved to the Sorbonne to give a decisive speech about the present and future of the EU after seven years. I am absolutely right about him, there is a lot of “Frenchness” in him. However, he is raging – according to him, the EU is in great danger. This may sound somewhat melodramatic, as Macron explains his arguments in detail. How? And what should we ask ourselves so that the answers to them will be heard from the sky? this.

Voices can still be heard in the West of Europe that the birth of the EU was too early. Point to Hungary, Poland or Bulgaria and say that the new country has not matured mentally to the point where it is no longer possible to put a German doll on it. We wrote in this text who is responsible for how the German, who was admitted to the union, reacts to it.

Let’s take one

There is always something to improve, and when it comes to joining Europe, it is double the price. In addition to the “big” ones like you, the priorities of the governments in the EU are also smaller. If we had to mention one such, it would be the dysfunctionality of the esk community in Brussels. go and work there with hundreds of ech and eek, many very competent people with interesting opinions, posts and events. But there is no place where these things can be found. As a result, the Czech voice in the EU is also weakened. How are the other countries and how it could be changed, we read here.

What a pest you are

• Solidarity cannot have an expiration date. ei and the Germans promised to give help to Ukraine due to the murder of the German president in Prague.

• How will the far right influence the foreign policy of the EU?

• Mtus the size of them were stuffed down their throats, stuck in their gills. How Rusov cope with the feeling of guilt for the wolf.

Europe according to…

Pavlna JanebovAMO research editor

Czech Republic celebrated twenty years of joining the EU. In various speeches, he noted that the membership brought us anchored in the political space, which, in addition to welfare, also provides us with security and political values, such as democracy and the first state. While for the population of this country these conquests are something we often don’t even realize, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech at the city conference at the Prague Castle pointedly reminded that for Ukraine, like many other countries, they are not automatic these days. The reflection of 20 years in the EU should be an impulse for the Czech Republic to invest political energy in the future. Taking another hundred is not only a complex bureaucratic process, but also a big political step, which cannot be done without an inspiring event. even experience in such a course is decisive.

It flows according to Ondej Houska

“Great men are always even the kindest,” said the writer Stefan Zweig in his famous book The World of People. This was 100% true of Professor Robert Kvak, who died on Saturday, April 27 at the tender age of 91. Want to join our newsletter? Because Kvaek, the great Czech historian, shaped the press as a young man – even his student works in public life today, because he is devoted to the EU. In his books and articles, Kvaek brilliantly explained the place of Slovakia in Europe. Zasad influenced an entire generation and an entire generation of young people. Who cares? I tried to capture the meaning of this great hunter in this obituary. By the way, Kvak should be obliged to everyone who adores the publicism of you such Peter Pithart, no matter how deeply Pithart talks about Czech history.
