A colorful costume spectacle in Lower Germany: The festive season has begun

/VIDEO/On the sunny afternoon of Saturday, May 4, in Dolní Němčí, a festive hunt led by sixteen-year-old Anička Richtrová and twenty-four-year-old Josef Kolísk provided an impressive spectacle of the colorful beauty of local costumes.

While the old woman is still a high school student who would like to become a paramedic one day, the old woman is studying at the BUT in Brno at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where she also teaches. They share a love of folklore. Anna has been dancing in Hradišťánek since she was four years old, and Josef has been a member of the local Oldněmčany for several years.

“We both met at the dance rehearsals of Dolněmčan and in the end we became a stark couple. We are happy that we could thus help preserve the tradition of feasts with law, of which the elderly are an important part,” Josef Kolísek told Deník.

A wine exhibition was held in Uherské Hradiště. Who was among the awardees?

The festive chasa procession, numbering more than a hundred costumed people, then marched through the village, accompanied by the brass music of Dolněmčanka women, so that after stopping at the old man’s house and a blessing from the local priest Jiří Luňák, the costumed people traveled to the municipal office, where they came to ask for the right to organize the feast. There, the costumed ones were welcomed by the mayor František Hajdůch.

“I give you such a mandate that all young people maintain order and good manners during the festive music. And when we have already given you permission to feast, we also hand over to you, as the old custom says, this right to feast. Furthermore, we stipulate that you take good care of the law and do not allow the Poles to steal it. Chase, be kind to your parents for dressing you up so nicely. Enjoy the kind of fun we haven’t had here in a long time,” the mayor said, among other things, in his speech.

The beginning of May traditionally belongs to the Filippojakub festival in Lower Germany. Every year, they start the festive season not only in Slovakia and, in addition to the costumed parade, they usually culminate with Saturday entertainment and Sunday’s festive service in the church of St. Filip and Jakub and Monday parties in local restaurants.
