The Swedes had their first big chance when Eriksson Ek finished in the fifth minute, but the home goalkeeper Berra caught him. After a while, on the other hand, the Swiss were a short distance from the leading goal: veteran Ambühl shot from an ideal position between the circles, goalkeeper Wallstedt reflexively swung his catch and pushed the puck just above the goal with his back. Not even Herzog’s point changed the score.

In the 25th minute, Senteler did not tame a bouncing puck in front of an open goal, Zetterlund on the other hand did not aim accurately from a good position. Moments later, a lone Olofsson charged at Berra, but he didn’t surprise him with a backhand bluff attempt. Another great chance was not used by Ambühl.

Goalkeepers Berra and Wallstedt kept a clean sheet until the 52nd minute. Although the Swiss survived the foul of Loeffel, who was the only suspended player of the match, unscathed, then Zetterlund found a bounced puck between the circles and opened the scoring. Only 57 seconds passed and Berra Brodin surprised with a blocked attempt at the near post. At the beginning of the 56th minute, Thürkauf reduced the score, but no more goals were scored.
