9 – 12 May The World According to Ken Loach / Edison Filmhub Prague

On the occasion of the premiere of the latest film Old oak tree of the legendary director Ken Loach, followed by a discussion with Loach’s close collaborator and screenwriter Paul Laverty, we have prepared a several-day screening of his films from the first Kes from 1967 to the latest films.

4. 5. – 28. 7. Three Lamrs / Ludvík Kuba Gallery in Poděbrady

Already the seventh joint project of the family trio – the father Ales Lamra and his sons Hanush and Jana – is also a tribute to an exceptional artist who recently passed away But Lamr, who himself participated in the planning of the Three Lamrs in Poděbrady. His last work will be exhibited, including his last canvas.

3. 5. – 3. 11. Drive / Contemporary Art Center EPO1, Trutnov

The exhibition focuses on the depiction of bicycles and their role in human life. The work of more than four dozen artists of several generations will be presented in the former power plant. It is the most extensive exhibition ever dedicated to the phenomenon of bicycles and cycling on a Czech and international scale. A number of objects and paintings were created specifically for this occasion and will have their premiere in the unique environment of an industrial gallery.

12. 4. – 25. 5. ARCHIPELAGO / ARCHIPELAGO 13 *A3 / UM Gallery

Exhibition of the Studio of Architecture III UMPRUM Archipelago / Archipelago 13 *A3 presents works – architectural models of students, graduates and teachers of the studio over the past 13 years under the leadership of prof. Imrich Vašek.

5. 4. – 12. 5. Vladimir 518: Personal Investigation / Gallery Bunker

22. 3. – 29. 9. No feeling lasts forever. Solidarity collection in Skopje / Exhibition Palace

The international group exhibition “No feeling lasts forever. Solidarity Collection in Skopje” was prepared by NGP in cooperation with Kunsthalle Vienna and the Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje (MoCA). The project is based on the collection in Skopje and the historical and political context of its creation.

8. 3. – 26. 5. IVANA LOMOVÁ: Silence / Regional gallery Liberec

Monographic retrospective exhibition of Ivana Lomová includes paintings from the cycle Under the Blanket (2000), Solitude (2009), Cafes (2010), Passengers (2012) or Prague (2021). With her painting, the author interprets the world around her without exaggeration, without ostentatiousness, without embellishments – images of everyday life, but only with exceptional courage to convey these images to the audience through picturesque photo optics.

3. 3. – 4. 8. 2024 INTERNAL DESIGN – Eva Švankmajerová / Jan Švankmajer / GASK Kutná Hora

In this jubilee year, GASK presents to the public the lifelong work of the world-renowned artist Jan Švankmajer and his wife Eva.

9. 2. – 22. 9. KAFKAESQUE / DOX Center for Contemporary Art

The works of three dozen internationally acclaimed artists show that Kafka’s work, with its references to existential fears and personal anxieties, is highly relevant to our times. The goal of this Kafka exhibition is not to build new monuments repeating old clichés, but to reflect Kafka’s work from the perspective of the contemporary world, which is at a point where the old no longer exists and the new has not yet been born.

6/5/6:30 p.m Presentation of the issue of the magazine Plav: Sport v literatura / outdoor areas of the Museum of Literature

Fitness training on the occasion of the launch of an issue of Plav magazine with the subtitle Sport in literature. What is the physical condition of people dealing with words? How many miles does a good book need? And how many of you earn more from sports than from literature?

6 – 26 May Spring asparagus menu / Chateau Ctěnice

The romantic castle restaurant Chateau Ctěnice, located in the Ctěnice Castle complex on the northeastern border of Prague, will offer lovers of good food a special spring asparagus menu full of unique Czech asparagus dishes from the Hostín u Vojkovic farm in Mělnick. On the weekend 11.-12. May the restaurant will offer brunch for a romantic celebration of Mother’s Day.

8/5/13:00 Artists and artworks at the Olšan cemeteries

The walk is dedicated to the interesting sculptural works at the Olšan Cemetery and their creators – from František Bílek to Olbram Zoubek. Tereza Frindová will guide you. The participants meet in front of the main gate (Olšanská hřbitovy stop).

5/9 5:30 p.m Crochet session in Kafe Atrium

Beginners, advanced or professionals. A quiet time and space to learn something new or share experiences and “pranks”. Every second Thursday in Kafe Atrium with Zdeňka Kršíková, our Žižkov neighbor and crochet expert. Free entry.

9. 5. 50 years of the metro / CAMP Prague

On May 9, it will be half a century since the first section of metro line C opened. On this occasion, a rich program awaits you in the form of many film screenings focused on the history of the metro and its future development. Lectures will take place, during which you will see under the hood of the planned automation of the metro and learn more information from behind the scenes of Prague transport. During the day, CAMP will show short archive films about public transport.

10. – 12. 5. The start of the spa season in Mariánské Lázně

The weekend celebrations will offer local residents, spa guests and visitors to the city a ceremonial consecration and opening of mineral healing springs, a ceremonial parade in historical costumes, a craft and farmer’s fair, a concert by the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, a ceremonial mass and a rich accompanying program. 11. – 12. 5. Maker Faire Prague / Exhibition center Prague

Families with children, technology enthusiasts and professional innovators in business and education will once again visit Křižík pavilions at Výstaviště Prague.
