Brunch at The Mozart Hotel: Late but great food

In the next part of the brunch series, we go to The Mozart Hotel near the Charles Bridge. The place will be especially appreciated by lovers of quiet conversation with friends and family.

Hotel The Mozart is located on one of the most attractive places in Prague, just a few minutes’ walk from the Charles Bridge. Specifically in Karolina Světlá Street. Its rooms offer a luxurious view of Prague Castle. The hotel was created by connecting several historical buildings and its history dates back to 1765. The current facade of the house dates from 1863 in the style of classicism. The hotel got its current name because of the fact that it was at the height of its glory Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart often stayed here with his wife at the invitation of Count Pachta.

Late time but great food

Brunch here calls itself “Late Brunch” as it is served every Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00. At the same time it is an interesting mix of buffet and served dishes. While appetizers and desserts are served buffet style, the main course is served. There are meat and fish dishes to choose from, but vegetarians will also find their way. As a sandwich lover from New York’s Jewish bistros, I immediately headed for pro bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. I didn’t mind at all that I was enjoying this breakfast treat at a later time than lunch. Among the appetizers, they continued to appeal to me breads with dried ham or salad with octopus.

I chose (another) salmon as my main course and I didn’t regret it at all. Just cooked fish was served with tarragon with vegetables and watercress sauce. Everything seemed to work together. I definitely liked the salmon better than the chicken supreme, which I also had the chance to try.

He was waiting at the dessert buffet a selection of cakes (honey, chocolate), sweet pastries or Czech fritters and fruit dumplings. He wasn’t missing either chia pudding.

All that food needs to be washed down with something. Unlimited drinks are included in the price. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, but also alcoholic drinks. Prosecco, Branciforti Italian wines and beer are served.

How much does it cost?

The price for an adult is 1490 crowns. Children from 5 to 10 eat for 750 crowns and children under 5 years old completely free.

Brunch is definitely worth a visit for larger groupswhich will take care of their own entertainment or they prefer a quieter environment for conversation. Which can be a problem at louder brunches with live music and entertainment.
