A swastika flag was waved in Pilsen’s Convoy of Freedom, the police suspect two Czechs

In footage circulating online, one of the drivers of the American convoy can be seen handing his female passenger a red flag with a black swastika on a white field, which was used by the Nazis during World War II. A woman with a little girl on her lap waves a flag to the onlookers.

Police on https://twitter.com/PolicieCZ/status/1787113046902514054, that checks the authenticity of the video and possible illegal actions. This could be the promotion of a movement aimed at suppressing human rights and freedoms, for which the perpetrator can receive up to five years in prison.

Later on Sunday evening, the police said that they had established the identity of two Czech citizens who are suspected of the above crimes.

“We have already established the identity of the actors of this illegal act, the Pilsen criminal investigators are now carrying out criminal proceedings in the case,” said the spokeswoman. The waving of a flag with a swastika was confirmed by the police. “However, no one has been charged yet, so we are still looking into it,” the spokeswoman added.

Pavel Rogl from the military history club 16th Armored Division Club, which is among the organizers of the convoy, confirmed that the incident took place. And he doesn’t take napkins. “We know about it, it’s a problem, but not ours. It was some kind of trick from the jeepers, i.e. unorganized participants who join the convoy. In no case was it anyone from us,” Rogl told Novinkám.

“We have a sketch of the vehicle, we have handed it over to the police, of course there will be a criminal prosecution. It was a German flag with a swastika, someone apparently wanted to disrupt the event, to provoke,” added Rogl.
