The talk show Pro modern Česko is heading to Pardubice. On May 16, starting at 5:30 p.m., Minister Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL), actor Lukáš Hejlík, meteorologist Taťána Míková and chief economist of CEZ Pavel Řežábek will discuss why the weather changes or how to live with photovoltaics and electric cars.

In mid-May, Pardubice will become a place that will pulsate with discussions and modern energy. Already on Thursday, May 16, residents of Pardubice and the surrounding area can look forward to a unique talk show focused on modern energy, energy savings, a more sustainable and peaceful lifestyle or new technologies, such as electric cars or the possibility of sharing energy within the framework of community energy.

The event For modern Czechia – a talk show full of new energy will start at 5:30 p.m. in the SILA Multifunctional Hall in the Pardubice Automatic Mills complex. Minister of the Environment Petr Hladík, actor and author of Gastromap Lukáš Hejlík, climatologist and meteorologist Taťána Míková and chief economist of ČEZ Group Pavel Řežábek have promised to participate in the debate.

The event will be accompanied by journalist and moderator Michael Rozsypal. The talk show will be followed by a professional conference intended for representatives of cities, municipalities or companies, which will suggest how best to use the possibility of strengthening energy self-sufficiency based on examples of good practice.

Entry to both events is free, but the organizer, the Obnovitelne.cz portal, with the support of the Union of Modern Energy, recommends registering via the registration form.

The talk show guests will discuss, for example, how to be more independent from hard-to-predict energy prices on the market, how to defend against the increasingly unpredictable weather we have experienced in recent weeks due to climate change, or how to ensure that the Czech Republic emerges from green modernization as a stronger and richer country . At the same time, they will also share their experiences with home photovoltaics, electric cars or reveal their recipes for a calmer and more sustainable life with respect for nature.

“The talk show For modern Czechia will draw attention to the fundamental topics of today, which are related to the transformation of the economy, energy and our everyday lives. We will bring expert views, for example, on energy management or how the Czech Republic can avoid blackouts after shutting down coal-fired power plants. However, there will also be practical experience with the benefits of a solar power plant on the roof of a house or electromobility,” Martin Sedlák, program director of the Union of Modern Energy, explains the content of the talk show.

“We are facing a big challenge. The Czech Republic has a unique opportunity to embark on green modernization, which will help us strengthen energy security and protect the environment for future generations. We need to restore our landscape and adapt nature and cities to climate change. Green modernization includes investments in clean energy, its availability for all and conservation measures. It is necessary to gradually replace fossil fuels with renewable resources and start using them efficiently. In this way, we will not only help protect nature, but also support the ability of Czech companies to survive on the market and households to save on energy. That’s why we not only help families insulate and comprehensively renovate houses and apartments, that’s why we help with the restoration of coal regions, and that’s why we support nature-friendly and gentle measures. At the Ministry of the Environment, we are also working hard on the development of so-called acceleration zones, which are supposed to speed up and facilitate the construction of wind and solar energy so that they do not endanger nature or communities,” says Minister of the Environment Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL).

“Especially in connection with the war in Ukraine, we saw how sensitive energy prices are to the geopolitical situation. We can see that since then the public has been following the development of the energy market with greater interest than before. Thanks to the strong and developed European market for electricity and natural gas, the situation was stabilized relatively quickly. We will also ensure safe supplies in the coming years if we speed up the construction of renewable sources, ensure sufficient flexibility in the production, consumption and storage of electricity, and in the long term we also complete the new nuclear blocks. It is already certain today that the age of coal is rapidly coming to an end. We therefore need to pay enough attention to low-emission energy now to ensure secure, affordable and sustainable energy for decades to come.” says ČEZ Group chief analyst Pavel Řežábek.

New energy for the whole of the Czech Republic

Thursday’s talk show will be followed on Friday by the professional event Pro modern Czechia: a conference full of new energy, which will offer examples of good practice in the use of renewable energy sources or energy renovation of buildings.

Next to the Minister of the Environment Peter Hladík will perform for example Peter Valdmandirector of the State Environmental Fund or David Simek, mayor of Svitav. Expert blocks zoom changes in the New Green savings programsbut also how to get the most out of it community energy, how to avoid unfair companies when installing photovoltaics, what is good to think about energy renovation of the house and what are the benefits of the acquisition of a heat pump for a village or family house.

They won’t be missing either the first wind energy development projects (the NOHO company and projects in the Pardubice region) or present the possibilities of green industrial zones that can grow in place of neglected brownfields including nurseries and residential housing.

Details of individual lectures in the attached invitation. Participation is again free, the organizers ask for early registration via the form.

“In the past two years, we have met several thousand representatives of cities and municipalities from all parts of the Czech Republic at regional events, to whom we passed on know-how on how to pay less for energy with the help of state support for photovoltaics or renovations, increase your energy self-sufficiency and be more resistant to current and future fluctuations in the energy market. Now that the solar and warming wave has passed through the Czech Republic, we are coming with an updated format where we will focus on new subsidy programs, draw attention to technological innovations and trends in modern energy, and also respond to the most common myths about renewable energy sources.” says Martin Sedlák, stating that, among other things, For modern Czechia has the task of facilitating the sharing of practical experience with the operation of wind or solar parks.

“We support the reduction of the energy demand of buildings, the development of photovoltaics and the modernization of resources and technologies across all sectors in the long term throughout the Czech Republic. Support is currently running for municipalities, cities and other public sector entities in the Operational Program Environment, buildings with historic preservation can use preferential support from the Modernization Fund in the ENERGov call, and the public and private sector can start building photovoltaic systems from RES+ calls, as well from the Modernization Fund,” he says director of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, Petr Valdman and continues:

Funds from the Modernization Fund for the renovation of houses in the residential sector through the New Green Savings program open the way for us to modernize housing for a much larger number of households than was the case in previous periods. It can be said that today every household can obtain financial support for measures leading to energy self-sufficiency. We have added a lightweight NZÚ Light to the standard New green savings, which will enable simple but effective renovations for households with lower incomes, we will help pre-finance complex renovations with an advance subsidy and a preferential loan in the Repair Grandma’s House program. We are now also offering advance subsidies to SVJ and housing cooperatives, and we will support the modernization of rental housing in houses owned by municipalities and public administrations with up to 70% of subsidies.”

Pardubice will be followed one month later on June 13 by the conference For modern Czechia in Svitavy. Practical workshop organized in cooperation with the city will offer households information on how to best choose heat pumps, insulate your house or purchase solar panels on the roof of a family or apartment building while avoiding disadvantageous offers. There will also be instructions for establishing an energy community that can maximize profit from the use of renewable energy sources.

The organizers are also preparing a meeting for family farms in the Pardubice region. This will take place at the end of May in Litomyšl, and participants will be able to visit the unique pilot project of agrovoltaic installation, they will also learn news about possibilities of using small biogas stations connected with the operation of agricultural farms.

The promised discussion with the Minister of Agriculture, Mark Výborný, will also be included. The event is planned for the afternoon of May 31. The current program will be presented in the following days on the modernenergetika.cz website.
