“The driver was driving from Brno and got lost in the forest near Dačice. At the same time, he allegedly lost one tire and the car got stuck on a forest road. As he so-called hiked it, a spark jumped near the reservoir and the car caught fire,” police spokesman Miroslav Šupík described the initial information from the investigation to Novinkám.
He pointed out that the man had tested positive for drugs. “Specifically, it was amphetamine and methamphetamine. The driver refused to undergo a medical examination. The police are continuing to deal with the case,” added Šupík.

The exact cause of the fire is also being determined by the fire brigade investigator. “Porsche Cayenne doesn’t burn every day. When passing through the forest near Dačice, however, something bad can happen,” said Vendula Matějů, spokeswoman for the South Bohemian Fire Department.
Firefighters from nearby Dačice went to the scene immediately after the fire was reported. “A professional unit intervened. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. However, the car completely burned down,” stated Matějů.

Nothing was left of the expensive car
Although the car was ten years old, the damage is estimated at one million crowns, according to a spokesperson for the fire department.
