The first clash took place at half past five in the early evening. “The driver of a Škoda Fabia passenger vehicle drove partially into the opposite direction for reasons yet to be determined, where he collided with an oncoming Volvo through the mirrors. As a result of the collision, there was an accident with four other vehicles driving behind the Volvo,” said Martin Šupík, a spokesman for the South Bohemian police.
The accident resulted in five injuries.
“Rescuers provided acute immediate care to five injured persons. Two of them remained wedged in the car and had to be extricated. All the injured suffered mostly medium-severe injuries in the torso area, we do not rule out the suspicion of severe injuries in some of them,” stated Zuzana Fajtlová, the spokeswoman for the paramedics.
She added that the most seriously injured person was transported by helicopter to the trauma center of the České Budějovice hospital. The other injured were taken to Pisice and Strakonice hospitals.
After seven o’clock, paramedics, police and firemen had to go into action again. “Two vehicles collided between the villages of Stará Hlína and Mláka,” police spokesman Šupík stated.
A medical rescue helicopter was once again on the scene. “Initial information from the scene says there are four injured,” rescuers said on the X network.
