The terrible discovery of a skull in Pilsen: there were traces of gross violence on it

--

Initial information said it was a head. A Slovakian tourist reported the discovery right in the city center on Friday afternoon and contacted the Pilsen police officers. But in the end it turned out to be a skull. “She had no soft tissue or teeth, so she could have been in the water for months,” a trusted source told Novinka.

The skull was lying several centimeters under water in the mud on the Denisova embankment, confirmed Tereza Schliková from the press department of the Pilsen city police. Detectives and divers arrived at the scene and searched the area carefully. “In the case of the discovery of human remains, we ordered a forensic autopsy,” regional police spokeswoman Eva Červenková reported last week. She added that further professional investigations will follow.

According to Novinek’s findings, the front part of the skull was fractured, indicating gross violence. DNA analysis will be key. Experts will then compare the results with the DNA of the murdered 33-year-old Slovak homeless man. “Nothing will be 100 percent until then,” a trusted source warned.

The murdered man had a mutilated body, missing his genitals, most of his internal organs and even his head. Medical examiners then concluded that it was a violent death. The human torso was found by passers-by last January under a footbridge in the Pecihrádek locality, which is approximately 3.5 kilometers from Denisova embankment, where the skull was located. Since it was no longer a head, but only a decomposing skull, it could be related to the case.

Criminal investigators accused 42-year-old Tomáš Huleš of the brutal murder of a homeless man, who ended up in custody. A man addicted to meth recently appeared in court for petty crimes from 2022 and 2023. According to the file, he stole cables with non-ferrous metals from railroad cars, diesel from a truck and drove a car even though he was prohibited. “But I didn’t commit the murder,” emphasized Huleš, nicknamed Gumák. At the same time, he admitted that the dead man was wearing his clothes. He repeated several times that he did not take the man’s life.

The recidivist has already been punished by the court in the past for stealing non-ferrous metals and also for assaulting his partner. According to the verdict, he attacked the woman and broke her shoulder blade. He then forced her to lie covered in bed and threatened to gouge out her eyes if she got out.
