“Her homeland” will start the next year of the Horn Fest Prague festival this Sunday

Nikol Bóková’s composition entitled “Her Homeland” will be heard this Sunday, May 12, in Písecká brána at the opening concert of the Horn Fest Prague festival. The alternative celebration of Smetana’s anniversary will start at 4:00 p.m., entrance fee on the spot is voluntary.

This year’s festival Horn Fest Prague is, like many other musical and cultural events, associated with The Year of Czech Music 2024. At his opening concert in Sunday, May 12 from 4:00 p.m. in Písecká brána therefore the song will also be played Nikol Bóková with name Game Country (Her Motherland) – among other things as a certain addition to the festival celebrations Prague springwhere the jubilant song will be played on the same day My Countryalso as part of the opening concert.

“Composition Game Country it made me think about my country – about its history, about my relationship with it, about Milada Horáková’s personality and also about its potential. The ability to create music for Radka Baborák and the whole ensemble of breathtaking performers is a huge inspiration and joy, says the author about her composition Nikol Bóková.

In the attractive program of the concert, next to the founder of the festival, the horn player Radka Baborákwill also be presented by a mezzo-soprano Bella Adamova. Except Baborák Ensemble the soloists will be accompanied by an ensemble Czech Horn Choruswho will play Songs without words Gideon Klein and Bladder Allegro for horn quartet. Folk poetry set to music for voice and piano by Leoš Janáček and Creamy Tripartite songs accompanied by a trio of French horns. From Nikol Bóková will be premiered next Intrada for forest horns and a miner Radek Baborák together with the author, he will also present a new one Impromptu for horn and piano.

Festival Horn Fest Praguewhich was established in 2020, will offer a total of 6 concerts, which will take place not only in Prague, but also at Brtnice Castle or Žehušice. Concerts outside of Prague that will take place June 22 and 23are organized in cooperation with Art Brtnice as Czech Horn Society J.V. Stich Pun. Tribute Beethoven and Stich to Punt on them along with Radek Baborák will also fold Prague chamber soloists and in cooperation with Hochschule Fr. Liszt in Weimar students of the forest horn professor Jörg Bruckner.

Prague listeners can also look forward to a similar program in Sále Martinů 23. 6. as part of the morning matinee. This concert and collaboration with German students will take place with support of the Czech-German future fund. In the fall, the festival will continue with an anniversary celebration Anton Bruckner in church of St. Anežky in Spořilov and also in Atria Žižkovwhere the premieres of the songs will be presented Ondřej Brouska and Luboš Sluka.
