The collision of cars complicates traffic on the western ring road of Pilsen

One car ended up in the barriers after the collision, the other turned in the opposite direction

Today before three o’clock in the afternoon, there was a traffic accident in Regensburská street, i.e. on the western bypass of Pilsen, during which two passenger cars collided.

Several people were reported injured from the scene, so all emergency services had to go to the accident again.

Firefighters secured the scene of the accident, provided first aid to the two injured women, carried out fire prevention measures and disposed of leaking operating fluids using a sorbent.

The paramedics then took care of the two injured women and transported them to the hospital.
“The paramedics transported two women from the scene of the accident. A 77-year-old woman with a minor injury and the other 75-year-old woman with a moderate injury. Both to the Acute Admission of the Plzeň Lochotín University Hospital,” the spokesperson for the rescuers told us.

According to information from the scene, the accident occurred when the elderly driver of a silver Nissan Qashqai entering the bypass from Vojanova street did not give way to the driver of a white Nissan Qashqai driving along the bypass in the direction of Borské polě. The impact threw the culprit’s car into the barriers, while the other car spun against the direction of travel.

The female passenger from the silver car and the driver from the white one were injured.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident at the scene, so far it is only possible to state that the driver and the driver had breath tests for alcohol with negative results.

The accident is still under investigation at the scene and the vehicles are being towed away. Traffic is controlled by a shuttle at the site.
