WhatsApp suffers global outage – News

--

The first users began to complain about problems with WhatsApp shortly after 8 p.m. Tens of thousands of reports soon appeared on the DownDetector server, which monitors the availability of the most popular web services.

Users practically all over the world, including the Czech Republic, complain about the unavailability of services. “The messages appear to me as undelivered, at first I thought there was an error with my receiver,” said Novinky.cz reader Filip F.

Hundreds of similar posts can be found on the DownDetector server. And that in Europe, Asia, but also in the USA.

WhatsApp is working for some users

But the interesting thing about the current problems is that for some users the application works without problems. “Although people in New York often report unavailable service, the app works perfectly fine for me,” added Chris.

It is not unusual for one member of the household to have the chat program work without any restrictions, and for another user the application will constantly report “connecting in progress”.

Users also complain about other problems. “I can log in, but the messages are obviously not being delivered. And I don’t even get new ones,” complained Eduardo P.

It is not yet clear what exactly caused the problems of a global nature. Representatives of Meta Platforms, which operates WhatsApp, have not even officially confirmed the outage yet.

However, on Wednesday evening, users on the DownDetector server also complained about the unavailability of other services of this internet giant – the social networks Facebook and Instagram or the Messenger chat application. However, the problems of the mentioned platforms were primarily related to foreign countries.
