This amount is imported by the Russian media only on the basis that Ivanov was detained by agents of the Russian secret service FSB on suspicion of accepting a bribe of “particularly large scale”, which is defined by Russian law as exceeding this limit.
Along with Ivanov, several people involved in the money transfer in a “complex chain of intermediaries” were detained, a source familiar with the investigation told Izvestiya. According to the website, searches of properties of the deputy minister’s family also began on Tuesday evening.

According to the Baza Telegram channel, relatives are now unable to contact even Ivanov’s ex-wife Svetlana Zakharova, who was also arrested according to some unconfirmed reports. She divorced Ivanov in 2022, but according to the website, she apparently still owns Crystal Development, a company that manufactures electronic components, with his father. At the same time, the woman had shares in several other companies.
Ivanov was responsible, for example, for the project of the so-called restoration of the occupied Ukrainian Mariupol, the construction of the main temple of the Russian armed forces or the Vostochny cosmodrome, the media write. He has been deputy defense minister of Sergei Shoigu since 2016.
In 2022, associates of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny claimed that Ivanov owned real estate in Moscow and other Russian cities worth approximately one billion dollars (24 billion crowns).
