From Comet to Skaters. American striker Moses would like to play a more important role in Boleslav

“He should replace Róbert Lantoši in goal. In Brno, he established himself well at the highest Czech competition. We believe that he will build on that with us,” Bruslařů sports director Martin Ševc said for the website of the Mladá Boleslav club.

Moses is looking forward to his new assignment. “It’s a big challenge for me. I know that Boleslav didn’t do very well last season. However, I had a very good feeling from the conversations with manager Ševec. I want to be a part of the revival of the club and help the team get from thirteenth place to a significantly higher position in the next extra league year,” he decided.

He admitted that he thought about changing the jersey for a long time. “It was quite a difficult decision. I made a lot of friends in Kometa and it wasn’t easy to leave them. I also had a very good relationship with coach Modrý, whom I respect a lot. However, I felt that I could play an even more important role in the Boleslav team. We foreigners must be better than domestic hockey players. That’s the only way we deserve to play here,” says Moses.

He will prepare for the new season at home in the United States. “I have about three months to do it. First I’m going to rest a bit and then I’m going to really get into it with my fitness coach. I am going to train on the ice as well. Summer is always difficult for a hockey player, but I enjoy the process of improving myself,” he smiled.

With the management of the Mladá Boleslav club, Moses has set several dates when he will join the new team. “The latest is the beginning of August, when the team starts training on the ice. But we will be in contact, maybe I will arrive earlier,” he revealed.

Moses started playing hockey in Boston. He played in the AHL. His first foreign engagement was the Finnish Jokerit Helsinki. In the 2014/15 season, he won the Canadian scoring title in the KHL and won bronze with the American national team at the world championship in Prague. He also worked in the KHL in St. Petersburg. He also has experience in the Swiss top flight. His teammate in Rapperswil was Roman Červenka. Before moving to Kometa last year, he played for Finnish Hämeenlinna.
