The students were upset by the psychologist’s lecture, three girls ended up in the hospital

“We had six upset girls in our care,” Monika Nováková, spokeswoman for Central Bohemian rescuers, told the iDNES portal, adding that all the girls were upset and hyperventilating.

Two of the schoolgirls were taken by paramedics to the Čáslav hospital, one to the Kutnohorsk hospital. The remaining three female students remained at the school.

According to the school director Josef Vavřinec, the incident happened during a preventive program in the presence of the school psychologist and the class teacher. He does not yet know what exactly happened in the classroom. “We are investigating the details,” added the director.

According to him, bad relations in the class were discussed during the session. “After the debate, one of the students started crying and others joined her. That’s why the school called the emergency services for preventive reasons,” the director explained.

Hyperventilation is accelerated and deepened breathing, during which there is a supply of oxygen much higher than what the organism needs. Often this condition is caused by feeling panic, stress and anxiety.
