On Saturday, at least two people were killed in Russian attacks on the Kharkiv region of southern Ukraine, and other people were injured in strikes on the Dnepropetrovsk region and the port city of Odessa. Ukrainian officials informed about it.
Ukrainian air defense reported on Saturday that it had shot down all 13 drones sent by Russia over Ukraine overnight.
It eliminated five of them in the Dnepropetrovsk region, said its head, Serhij Lysak. The wreckage of the downed planes hit an unspecified object of critical infrastructure and three private houses. Two people were injured. They are in moderate condition.
The Russian army also shelled the surroundings of the city of Nikopol, located near the destroyed Kachovská dam, with heavy artillery or Grad rocket launchers. A number of public buildings were damaged, including a school or bank, as well as critical infrastructure objects. Nobody was injured.
“The morning started with shelling, the Russians hit the village of Myrovska, an agricultural enterprise caught fire,” Lysak also reported on his Telegram channel.
The Russian missile attack on Odessa caused further injuries. Odesa Region Chief Oleh Kiper said on Telegram that the strike hit unspecified civilian infrastructure and injured three people – one man, who was treated on the spot by rescuers, and two women, who were taken to hospital.
According to preliminary data, an unspecified explosion injured five people in Belgorod, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote in a telegram. Before that, alarm sirens sounded in the city, reported the Russian-language BBC server. Two men and three women were injured, and according to Gladkov, the explosion also damaged 30 houses and ten vehicles.
The Ukrainian army shot down a Russian Su-25 over the Donetsk region on Saturday. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the Russian authorities did not comment on it.
“Special recognition goes to the fighters of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade for shooting down another Russian (aircraft) Su-25 today in the Donetsk region,” Zelenskyy said in a regular evening video speech.
