In Washington, home defender John Carlson opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a swing from behind the hoop. In 34 seconds, however, Chris Kreider answered with a run, and in weakening, he hit Barclay Goodrow at 8:08 in a two-on-one outnumbering.

The Rangers’ remaining goal was scored late in the second period by Vincent Trocheck on the power play. The rest was provided by the visitors’ goalkeeper Igor Šestorkin, who blocked 28 shots and was named the first star of the match.

Vancouver scored both goals on power plays in which JT Miller and Brock Boeser gave the team a 2-0 lead. Nashville dramatized the match in the 57th minute, in which Luke Evangelista made his mark. Goalkeeper Casey DeSmith, who replaced the injured Thatcher Demek from the second game of the series, did not allow more for the home team and picked up his first victory in the NHL playoffs.

Winnipeg turned the score from 0:1 to 2:1 in the middle period, but in the third act, Colorado launched a cannonade. Power plays also helped the team to turn around, in which Nathan MacKinnon and Valerij Ničushkin turned the score to 3:2. Casey Mittelstadt, the game’s first star, provided half of the Avalanche’s goals.

After Edmonton’s two goals, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, who has already scored six times in this year’s playoffs, scored. Oilers leader Connor McDavid scored three points (1+2) and the team also worked on power plays in which he scored half of the goals. Despite conceding six goals, Cam Talbot stayed in the Los Angeles goal until the end, with David Rittich covering his back.
