Syrsky published his statement on the Telegram social network, where he also reported that Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region “moved to new defensive lines” west of the villages of Berdychi, Semenivka and Novomychalivka.
According to Syrský, the most difficult situation is on the front in the direction of Pokrovsk and Kurachov, where fierce fighting continues. “The enemy used up to four brigades in these directions, which tried to develop an offensive west of Avdijivka and Marjinka and penetrate to Pokrovsk and Kurachov,” the general specified.
“In general, the enemy achieved some tactical successes in these areas, but could not gain an operational advantage. Ukrainian troops are causing him maximum losses, both in terms of personnel and military equipment,” said Syrskyi, whose statement was quoted by the online newspaper Ukrainska Pravda and also by the Russian news agency TASS.
According to Syrskyi, the Ukrainian army is moving reinforcements to the mentioned areas to replace the units affected by the losses.
Syrskij described the situation at the front in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions as “tense”. Here, however, Russian forces are not successful in any direction, he assured. “Furthermore, on the Kherson front, our troops managed to advance in the Veletenske region and gain control over the island of Nestryha (in the Dnieper delta),” he added.

According to him, the Russians are also attacking on the front near the city of Kupjansk in the Kharkiv region. They had partial success in the villages of Stemachivka and Berestove, but the progress was stopped. The situation is also tense near the town of Časiv Yar and Kliščijivka near Bakhmut, Syrskij added.
Syrskyj already stated on Saturday that the situation at the front for the Ukrainian defenders tends to worsen, which, according to him, was informed by Ukraine’s western allies. He pointed to a large number of Russian air strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure in recent weeks. According to him, Ukraine also urgently needs additional missiles, ammunition, military equipment and combat equipment.
