The landlord returns to Tampere: They wanted to keep him even then

The best scorer among the defenders is leaving the extra league: He has signed a one-year contract with Ilves Tampere in Finland. In the Nordic club, where they traditionally like to work with Czech players, he can follow up on the 2021/22 season, when he helped Ilves to bronze medals.

52 matches with a record of 17+13. Daniel Gazda has had another great year and, just like two years ago, he earned a contract in Scandinavia, in the hockey city of Tampere, with his performances.

“Daniel is very motivated to play for Ilves. We know him as a person and we know him as a top guy. We already wanted to keep him in Tampere the year before last, but at that time he had a valid contract in the Czech Republic. As a club, we believe that we can offer him a suitable opportunity and challenges for development,” said Ilves manager Timo Koskela.

“We believe we can offer him the right opportunity and challenges to develop.”

The 26-year-old back scored eight hits on the Komety powerhouse and once again confirmed his role as an elite extra-league back. He has already played 252 matches in the highest competition, this year he returned to the national team after three years (a total of 12 matches in the national team).

Goalkeeper Jakub Málek and forwards Ondřej Kos, Adam Najman and Šimon Stránský will also play in the hockey city and organization of Ilves this year. The owner will thus complete the Czech colony in this club.

Hamrla ends

At the same time as Gazda’s arrival, the club also announced the news that 20-year-old Czech goalkeeper Patrik Hamrla will not continue at Ilves.
