A serious accident closed the Millennium Bridge



Unfortunately, the terrifying series of accidents that started before Easter is still not over

Unfortunately, we have to inform you about another traffic accident that occurred at a quarter past six in the afternoon on the Milénia bridge in Pilsen.

It was reported from the scene that one vehicle overturned and the driver was injured, so all emergency services were again dispatched to the accident.

According to information from the scene, the driver of the Škoda Fabia was supposed to drive from Doudlevecká in the right lane, but just before entering the bridge, she apparently changed her mind and wanted to cross into the left lane. But she ran into concrete city blocks, punctured her wheel and overturned with the car on its left side, while the car continued for more than thirty meters.


After stabilizing the vehicle, the firemen helped the driver out, after which paramedics took over her care and after treatment on the spot, she was transported to the Emergency Department at the Plzeň Lochotín University Hospital.

“The driver, born in 1975, was driving a Škoda Fabia in the direction of Prokopova Street. For reasons not yet determined, she collided with city blocks, skidded and her car overturned. The woman tested negative for alcohol and drugs,” the police spokeswoman told us, adding that the police are still investigating the accident.

The bridge was closed in both directions for the duration of the intervention, now the direction to Slovany is passable.
