Air and sea drones are changing the face of war in Ukraine. Ground attack machines are now being added to them. One of them destroyed a bridge in the Donetsk region, thus making it difficult for the Russian occupiers to supply their troops.

Both the Ukrainians and the Russians are preparing for a situation where one unmanned vehicle will be lurking on the front for every soldier. In the air and at sea, these modern weapons redefined the balance of power, but within the land forces they continued to remain in the background. The Ukrainians have now shown what a ground drone can do on the battlefield.
Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov published a video in which a Ukrainian ground drone destroys an important bridge under the noses of the Russians. It happened near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.
The attack of the machine was without casualties, but that does not mean that it did not cause damage to the Russians. “The Ratel S ground kamikaze robot works. The defenders blew up a bridge with a robot in the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region, which greatly complicated the logistics of the Russians,” the minister informed.
The Ratel S robotic vehicle comes from a Ukrainian development company and is used by the Ukrainian army as a ground combat machine carrying anti-tank mines and other similar charges. It destroys both stationary and moving targets, including tanks, while its operator remains relatively safe, the Ukrainians note.
Ukrainian manufacturers have previously presented ground drones equipped with a heavy machine gun, as well as stretchers for transporting wounded soldiers from the front. The role of the drone was quite specific, pulling a tens of meters long chain of anti-tank mines, which covered the corresponding line where the Russian advance was threatened.
